I interviewed Filmmaker Carla Mooney about the Silk Road Film Festival, an international festival dedicated to creating and bringing films from east to west and forging creative bonds between the two sides. Carla founded the festival, which is now in it’s third year.
I went this week to the advance screening of Foxcatcher, a biopic about Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz’s (Channing Tatum) grooming by multi-millionaire Jon DuPont (Steve Carrell) in attempt to come out of his brother Dave’s (Mark Ruffalo) shadow.
The film was directed and co-produced by Bennett Miller and very oddly at that. Here’s what i noticed about it:
Gold strikes me as a film that could have went to edgy, risk filled places but decided against it. I didn’t come home praising it from the rooftops, but it is a film that would pass the evening. But would I pay to see it in the cinema? I did, and my advice to you…
