In the 1970s, ‘Captain Fantastic’ wouldn’t have been made. Forget the description of rape to an 8(ish) year old, or open conversation about mental health; the real issue would be Writer/Director Matt Ross’s criticism of capitalism and open attitude to lifestyles preached by ‘dem commies!

FOXCATCHER – Review

I went this week to the advance screening of Foxcatcher, a biopic about Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz’s (Channing Tatum) grooming by multi-millionaire Jon DuPont (Steve Carrell) in attempt to come out of his brother Dave’s (Mark Ruffalo) shadow.

The film was directed and co-produced by Bennett Miller and very oddly at that. Here’s what i noticed about it:

Gold – Review

Gold strikes me as a film that could have went to edgy, risk filled places but decided against it. I didn’t come home praising it from the rooftops, but it is a film that would pass the evening. But would I pay to see it in the cinema? I did, and my advice to you…
